Ahmedabad, Apr 2 (UNI) As part of its strategy to go global, Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIMA) has lately entered into an open enrollment programme with a B-School in a Canadian University for Executive Development Programme.

Briefing reporters about the issues taken up at the IIMA board of governors meeting here today, Institute's Director Bakul Dholakia said this is for the first time that IIMA has entered North America.

He said the board has approved IIMA providing faculty and other support for Advanced Management Programme to the Paris-based ESSEC B-School campus at Singapore on open enrollment basis.

IIMA had earlier entered into similar tie-ups with B-Schools in Egypt.

It would provide five to ten programmes this year in Dubai and Muscat.

As against setting up brick-and-mortar campuses abroad, which has invited technical snags as per the existing memorandum of association, Dr Dholakia said, ''IIMA has decided to take the strategic tie-up route to provide faculty and other expertise to B-Schools abroad.'' He said dialogue is on with a number of B-Schools as IIMA is regularly holding marketing shows abroad.

On the domestic front, IIMA today decided to start a Centre for Infrastructure, on the lines of Centres for Insurance, e-Governance, Health Management and Telecom Services started earlier.
