Haryana to be covered by e-disha centres:Hooda

Jind, Apr 2 (UNI) Haryana Government has an ambitious plan to set up e-disha centres in all towns and villages in the state in a phased manner for the benefit of the people, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said while inaugurating such a centre at newly constructed civil secretariat here today.

Jind is the fifth district in Haryana to have e-disha centre to provide various services to the people.

Mr Hooda said in the first phase of this ambitious programme, such centres would be set up in all district headquarters by the department of Information and Technology. In the second phase, 80 e-disha centres would be set up with private participant in all towns and 1000 such small centres would be set up in rural areas in the state under the third phase of the programme.

He said that these centres would provide various services like caste certificate, passport application forms, copy of land records, death and birth certificates, registration of vehicles, driving licenses and arms licenses and also provide information regarding other programmes of the government. With the setting up of these centres, the people would not have to visit various offices for different purposes.

The Chief Minister personally visited eight windows of the centre to see for himself the services being provided. He also enquired about the system of procuring copy of land record.

The Chief Minister, also inaugurated a new building of mini secretariat constructed at a cost of Rs 7.50 crore.

While speaking on the occasion, he said that with the functioning of the mini secretariat, different offices would function under one roof and facilitate the people.

The Chief Minister also planted a sapling of 'maulsari' in the complex of the secretariat.
