Hard work secret of success: Sharath
Chennai, Apr 2 (UNI) Hard work must supplement one's talent if a sportsperson is to win laurels, Commonwealth table tennis champion Sharath Kamal told upcoming players today.
At a felicitation FUNCTION by Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDATN) and its affiliate Achanta Kamal Gangadharam TT Centre here, Sharath also dedicated the two gold medals he had won in the Commonwealth Games to his coaches, father N Srinivasa Rao and uncle Muralidhara Rao, who honned his talent the right way.
Member Secretary SDAT Ms Apoorava, exhorted Sharath not to rest on his Commonwealth laurels but strive for higher honours for the country, and win an Olympic gold.
''I must be presiding over another felicitation function to you for winning an Olympic medal'', she said.
She said Sharath's spirit of sportsmanship of striving to win laurels was laudable and that should be the aim of every player.
K Shamini, who had won a Bronze as part of India's women's team at the Commonwealth Games was also felicitated along with Sharath.
Director Investigaton, Income Tax Department Amulendu Das, Commissioner IT Ms Nutan Aravind and President AKG TT Centre Thomas George also felicitated Sharath and Shamini.
