Governor, CM, JK Chief Justice participate in golf tournament
Jammu, Apr 2 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lieutenant General (retd) S K Sinha, in presence of chief minister ghulam nabi azad, innaugurated the golf championship, played to promote interaction between civil administration and various security forces in the state.
The golf championship was played at the sprawling and lush green army golf course nagrota. The players included the Governor and Chief Minister along with 10 teams from the Army, Border Security Forces, Central Reserve Police Forces, JK Police and Civil Administration.
Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court B A Khan and General Officer Commanding in chief of northern command lieutenant General Deepak Kapoor also participated in the championship for a while.
The Nagrota team lifted the trophy while dhruva team was declared runner up. Major Mehata was adjudged the best player of the tournament whereas Sukhvinder Singh from BSF won the prize for longest drive.
Lady Governor Ppremini Sinha gave away prizes to women players.
Awalia won the championship while Premini was declared as the runner up in the women contest.
Patron in Chief Nagrota golf course lieutenant general sudhir sharma gave the honorary membership scrolls and mementos to the Governor, CM, Chief Justice and PVSM (retd) lt gen vadehra.
Ashoka saplings wre also planted by the dignitaries on the occasion.
