Girl found hanging from tree in East Delhi

New Delhi, Apr 2 (UNI) A girl was found hanging from a wall in a temple in the Seelampur area of East Delhi this morning in what the police suspect as a case of suicide.

Nineteen year old Lata was found hanging with her 'dupatta' from a heavy hook clamped on a wall surrounding the temple of the Durga Goddess at Chauhan Bangad colony in East Delhi's Seemapuri area, at 0700 hours, the police said.

Police said Lata, the youngest of the four daughters of the temple priest Rajendra Kumar, had offered prayers at the temple at around 2200 hours last night. This morning, when Rajendra Kumar, who resided in a house adjoining the temple, woke up he found Lata hanging from the wall.

The police believe it as a case of suicide as initial investigations reveal that Lata, who worked in a beauty parlour in the Vishwas Nagar area, was prove to losing her temper at the slightest provocation.

The body has been kept in a nearby mortuary and will be sent for post-mortem tomorrow.
