Daughter of former India one-day player dies in road mishap

Faridabad, Apr 2 (UNI) The daughter and a relative of a former India one-day player Vijay Yadav died in a car accident here, police said.

Yadav's daughter Sonali (7), and nephew Rahul (24), died on the spot, when their car turned upside down near Gymkhana Club while coming from Delhi last night. His wife Amita, who was driving the car when the accident happened, was admitted to the ICU of the Escorts hospital in critical condition.

Yadav, who played 14 one-day internationals for India and and worked as pitch curator in the second ODI between India and England here on March 31, also broke his collar bone, police sources said.

Amita lost control of the car which rolled down the valley near Gymkhana Club.

The dead bodies have been sent for the post-mortem examinations and an FIR has been lodged at the NIT Police Station, police said.
