CM releases new Hindi magazine

Dharamshala, Apr 2 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today released the first edition of Hindi magazine ''Irawati'' here.

The magazine, dedicated to Amrita Pritam and Nirmal Verma, is being edited by renowned Hindi writer Rajinder Rajan.

Appreciating the endeavour of the editor in bringing out the magazine, Mr Singh said there was no dearth of talented writers and other forms of art in the state and the literary magazine would provide the right platform to the budding writers.

The government was promoting all forms of art for which a number of programmes were being implemented through the Department of Language and Art, he said.

Revenue Minister Sat Mahajan, Transport and Tourism Minister G S Bali, Political Advisor to Chief Minister B B L Butail, and MP Chander Kumar, were among others present on the occasion.
