Chouhan announces subsidy for ryots
Neemuch, MP, Apr 2 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today announced a subsidy with a view to providing relief to farmers from a power tariff hike.
''The burden of the Electricity Regulatory Commission's enhancement will not be placed on peasants,'' he told mediapersons at Dudarsi village in this district of Malwa region.
The recent increase particularly affected cultivators and industry.
''Ryots are already encountering difficulties due to a natural calamity (unseasonal showers and hailstorms),'' said Mr Chouhan who was here to inaugurate the 'Jalabhishek Abhiyan', an ambitious water conservation programme.
