CBI files chargesheet against two including a JE for taking bribe
New Delhi, Apr 2 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet against two people including a Junior Engineer of Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe one year ago.
CBI chargesheeted the Junior Engineer of MCD, South-West division Somesh Kumar Mittal and Amar Dev, a daily-wage worker, for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe from one Avdesh Mittal. The chargesheet was filed before the Special Judge I K Kochchar on Friday.
The complainant, Avdesh Mittal, a resident of Greater Kailash, New Delhi in his complaint to CBI stated that on January 4, 2005, Somesh and Amar Dev had allegedly demanded a sum of Rs 1.25 lakhs from him to allow him to construct the extension of his building.
CBI had registered the complaint made by Avdesh and according to the chargesheet, both of them were caught red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 1.25 lakhs from Avdesh.
However, the court has fixed April 12 as the next date of hearing to take cognisance in this case.
Somesh and Amar were chargesheeted under sections 120-B (Criminal Conspiracy), 7, 13, 13 (1), 13 (2), 13 (2) (D) of Prevention of Corruption (PC) Act.
