Bhubaneswar, Apr 2 (UNI) BJP Orissa unit President Juel Oram today urged Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to provide adequate security cover to the Bharat Surakhya Yatra launched by party President Rajnath Singh from the holy city of Puri on April six.

Mr Oram said since there had been a threat perception on the party president during his yatra which would extensively cover Orissa, including some of the naxalite-dominated areas, the state government should make elaborate security arrangements for the smooth passage of the yatra.

Mr Singh would arrive here on March five from Delhi and leave for Puri in the evening after addressing a press conference, he said.

He would also visit the Jagannath temple in the evening and hoist a flag atop the temple wheel, Mr Oram said.

On the next day, Mr Singh would seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath before commencing the yatra from the Lion's gate in the morning.

Chhatishgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh, Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi besides party's general secretary in-charge of Orissa Vinaya Katiyar would participate in the yatra, Mr Oram noted.

Mr Singh, he said, would cover as many as six districts, address ten public meetings and attend as many as 30 receptions at various places before entering to Chhatishgarh at Raighar on April 8 next.
