Areas around Gawarn to be developed for tourism - Peerzada

Gawarn, J&K, Apr 2 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir minister for Civil Aviation Peerzada Mohamed Sayeed today said the areas around the Gawarn will be developed as new tourist spots in state.

Mr. Peerzada, who alongwith a high level team of officers visited the far flung area of gawarn, 120 km from srinagar, said state has numerous virgin lands with potential for becoming new tourist attractions.

He said Gawarn, Mati Gawarn and Bunmati Gwaram will be developed as new tourist attractions. He took on stock of various problems being faced by the inhabitants of these areas.

He is the first minister to visit these and the surronding constituencies after a gap of 16 years.

Mr. Peerzada addressing a gathering on the occasion said, government's wants to bring most parts of the state bestowed with natural beauty on the world tourist map.

He said a sea change in ground situation in the valley has given impetus to investment in tourism sector as peace is imperative for the development of tourism infrastructure.

"This is the only industry that would change the socio- economic profile of the people of the state," he said.
