Ananth Kumar takes up cudgels for Neolithic culture
Bellary, Karnataka, Apr 2 (UNI) BJP General Secretary H N Ananth Kumar today mooted a study of Sanganakal, a village situated ten km from here where rich findings of the neolithic era could be spotted.
Suggesting that the village be developed into an international tourist spot by drafting a package, he said that after B.Betka in Madhya Pradesh, the neolithic findings could be spotted in this village only.
Speaking at a party workers meeting here, he said illegal mining activities going on around the village must be stopped immediately as it damaged the neolithics to a great extent.
Mr Ananth Kumar appealed to State Tourism Minister B Sreeramulu, who was also present, to hold round table conferences in Bellary and Bangalore to garner support of leaders.
Expressing willingness to lead a delegation to the Prime Minister and Union Tourism Minister in this regard, he said the entire gamut of Sanganakal and Tekkalkote must be protected before it faced extinction of rich Neolithic culture.
Mr Sreeramulu assured Mr Ananth Kumar that he would immediately take up the issue with the State Tourism Secretary.
