31 taken ill after consuming castor oil seeds

Bathinda, Apr 2 (UNI) As many as 31 people, most of them children, were taken ill and had to be hospitalised after consumed castor oil seeds near Goniana mandi in the district today, police said.

They ate the seeds while they were digging potatoes in the fields on the outskirts of Goniana mandi. A few of them even fell unconscious while others complained of dizziness and were brought to the civil hospital here. Their condition was described as stable.

Among those who were hospitalised were 14 girls and seven boys in the age group of five to 15 years.The rest were women.
