TVS Motor's 2005-06 sales up 19 pc
New Delhi, Apr 1: India's third largest motorcycle maker, TVS Motor Company, today said its bike sales during the financial year 2005-06 rose 19 per cent to 8,06,708 units as compared to 6,79,099 units during last year.
Total two-wheeler sales rose 15 per cent to 13,42,257 units compared to 11,67,016 units recorded in the previous financial year.
This is the highest ever sales volume in the company's history both in motorcycles as well as in the overall two-wheeler segment, TVS said.
Export witnessed a robust growth of 64 per cent in FY 2005-06, clocking 79,733 units compared 48,560 units in the corresponding period in the previous year.
During March 2006, two-wheeler sales rose 21 per cent to 128,857 units from 106,218 units in the same month a year ago.
Motorcycle sales rose 31 per cent to 83,896 units from 64,273 units, while gearless scooters fell 4 per cent to 17,410 units from 18,135 units.
