Tigress found dead
Mysore, Apr 1 (UNI) A seven-year-old tigress was found dead at the D B Kuppe Forest Range, under the Kakanakote Forest Division, in the Nagarhole National Park in this district of Karnataka today.
Forest Officials said the carcass was found by the department personnel during routine patrol in the forest area.
They said the tooth marks found on the carcass of the tigress suggest that it might have suffered fatal injuries a week ago during a fight with a crocodile in the backwaters of river Kabini and succumbed to wounds last night or this morning.
The post-mortem was performed at the H D Kote taluk hospital. DFO Jagan Mohan Sharam visited the spot, they added.
