Three policemen dimissed in UP

Fatehpur, Apr 1 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh police has dismissed three policemen including a head constable and two constables in connection with the March 7 attack on a scribe and his brother and the subsequent lynching of the assailants.

Police said here today that scribe Hanumant Singh and his brother Balwant Singh, also a brick kiln owner were attacked with fire arms by the D-2 gang kingpin Maharjdin Yadav and his aide Satish Maurya in the Dedasai village of this district on March 7.

The scribe's brother was killed in the attack, while Hanumant Singh received major injuries and was hospitalised. The notorious Maharjdin Yadav and Satish Maurya were lynched later by agitated locals, police added.

Following the twin incidents a high level police probe was ordered and based on the findings of the inquiry, head constable Shyam Bihari Tiwari, constables Santosh Kumar Gupta and Vir Bahadur Singh have been dismissed for colluding with the D-2 gang in the crime.

The three policemen were presently lodged in the Fatehpur District Jail, police added.
