SPs shifted after naxal attacks

Raipur, Apr 1 (UNI) The Chhattisgarh government today transferred the police superintendents of Rajnandgaon and Bijapur, following the recent Naxal attacks.

SP Vivekanand Sinha was shifted to Janjgir-Champa to replace Mr Amit Kumar who has been brought to Rajnandgaon, the home district of Chief Minister Raman Singh.

Similarly, Bijapur SP D L Manhar has been transferred as Commandant, 6th Battalion. in an exchange of posts with Mr B P Osarya.

Rebels stepped up violence in Bijapur area of Dantewara district over the past six months and slew two local BJP leaders and a Congress leader in Rajnandgaon district recently.
