Socialist Front celebrates victory

Imphal, Apr 1 (UNI) The Manipur Socialist Front celebrated the victory of Socialists and Third Front in the Rajya Sabha elections in various states.

Chairman of the Socialist Front S Raju Singh and former MP W Kulabidhu and other senior leaders said, in a statement, here that in the biennial Rajya Sabha elections this week their party performed satisfactorily in some states like Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Bihar.

In Karnataka, Janata Dal (Secular) got 1 seat, in UP The Samajwadi party and its ruling partner secured 6 seats, in West Bengal CPI(M) and Forward Bloc got 4 seats while JD(U) secured 3 seats in Bihar, they said.

The statement further said the UPA government at the Centre is getting support of the Left parties and that of Samajwadi party, Janata Dal (Secular), Lok Janshakti party and other secular parties.
