Security forces gun down Pakistani insurgent in Poonch

Jammu, Apr 1 (UNI) Security forces gunned down a hardcore militant of Pakistan-based Al-Badar at Sangiate area in Poonch district early today.

According to sources, the security forces, on a tip off that some Al-Badar militants had taken shelter in a village in Sangiate area, launched a search operation last night which continued till this morning.

As the troops cordoned the militants, they started firing. The security forces returned the fire in which one militant later identified as Ishtiyaq Khan, a resident of Pakistan and district commander of Al-Badar, was killed.

Two AK 47 rifles, four magazines, four hand graneds and one radio set were seized.

In another incident militants killed a man at Kalakote in Rajouri district last night. The security forces recovered his body this morning. He was identified as Mohammad Sharief.
