NABARD increases financial aid to Rajasthan
Jaipur, Apr 1 (UNI) The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) increased its financial support to Rajasthan to Rs 1877.75 crore for 2005-06, up from Rs 1682 crore in 2004-05.
Stating this at a press conference today, J R Sarangal, chief general manager, NABARD said the support comprised long term and medium term refinance of Rs 407.88 crore for investment loans, short term refinance of Rs 861.74 crore.
The mojor purposes for which medium term refinance was extended included Rs 183.51 crore for farm mechanisation, Rs 84.81 crore for rural non farm sector, Rs 35.30 crore for minor irrigation, Rs 35 crore for land development, Rs 28.29 crore for dairy development and Rs 23.58 crore for financing Self Help groups.
NABARD also sanctioned 3,317 projects for Rajasthan for a total loan limit of Rs 605.13 crore during year 2005-6 taking the cumulative total sanctioned projects to 16,615 and sanctioned amount to Rs 2705.73 crore.
