JK Police celebrates 17th raising day
Jammu, Apr 1 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Auxiliary Police celebrated its 17th raising day function at the Auxiliary/Civil Defence Headquarters here today.
State Director General of Police Gopal Sharma, who was the chief guest, envisioned greater role for auxiliary police to help the people.
Addressing cadets at the annual passing out parade of auxiliary police at Home Guard and Civil Defence Headquarters here, the DGP said the auxiliary police would be modernised and fully equipped with the latest technical know-how and technology on the pattern of other wings of the state police force.
He said the auxiliary police had to play an important role particularly in disaster management during the emergent situations, adding that the force would be provided specific trainings in disaster management by launching special training programmes at all district headquarters in the state.
Mr Sharma stressed the need for greater coordination between the auxiliary police and civil defence for achieving better functioning of the force adding that every effort would be made to improve the career prospects of auxiliary police personnel.
