Gujarat Govt dismantles complaint redressal cell

Surat, Apr 1 (UNI) Gujarat government has dismantled complaint redressel body Lok Prabharik Office headed by a retired district judge from today onwards, informed Additional Collector of Surat D V Mewada.

The office, headed by a retired district judge, was functioning in every district headquarters since 2001. The government took the decision to dismantle the department as it had been receiving minimum number of complaints.

''Loksampark Karyakram functioning at Chief Minister's office at Gandhinagar and Swagath Karyakram functioning at District Collectorates were receiving maximum number of cases,'' said Mr Mewada.

According to Mr Mewada, last month, Swagath Karyakram in Surat handled a total of 50 complaints from various sectors regarding government matters.
