Gujarat government disbands complaint redressel cell

Surat, Apr 1 (UNI) The Gujarat government's complaint redressel cell--Lok Prabharik-- headed by a retired district judge was today disbanded, according to Additional Collector D V Mewada.

The office, which was functioning in every district head quarters since 2001, was disbanded as it had been receiving very few complaints.

''On the other hand the 'Loksampark Karyakram'functioning at Chief Minister's Office at Gandhi Nagar and 'Swagath Karyakram' at district collectorates were reeiving maximum number of cases'', Mr Mewada said.

According to Mr Mewada, last month Swagath Karyakram in Surat handled a total of 50 complaints from various sectors on government matters.
