Govt to launch new water supply schemes-CM

Mysore, Apr 1 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today announced that a new scheme would be launched soon to assure drinking water supply to rural areas especially near the river beds in the state.

Laying the foundation stone for Town Municipality and KSRTC depot at Mallavali in Mandya district today, said that the programme would be launched to solve the problems of the rural areas with an aim to provide sufficient drinking water.

The Chief Minister said that he had studied various problems of the state during last two months and instructed officials to complete the ongoing programmes in the state.

"If the officials failed to implement the programmes stringent actions would be taken against such persons," he said.

He also announced Rs 50 lakh for the Mallavli town roads and another Rs 30 lakh for the rural areas roads in Malavalli taluk.

He also instructed the officials to blacklist the contractors who failed to complete the works particularly in the rural areas in a stipulated time.
