Kochi, Apr 1 (UNI) For the distraught Baby Mathew and his wife Ammini at Mulanuthurthy near here, the Thursday night cruise ship capsize off Bahrain spelt a double tragedy as they lost their son Arby and daughter-in-law Seenu in the mishap.
Arby (30) working as an elecrical engineer at Manama got married to Seenu only in January last year. Seenu (25) was working as a teacher in a computer training institute in Bahrain and was also pursuing her MBA.
According to reports here, the couple had in fact called Mulanuthurthy just hours before embarking on the dinner cruise to share with their parents the good news of Seenu clearing one of her MBA exams in flying colours.
Little did the old parents know they were talking to the couple, bubbling with happiness, for the last time.
Both Baby Mathew and his wife Ammini looked dazed and in deep despair when Union Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi called on them this morning to console them.
Arby and Seenu were among seven Keralites killed in the mishap. A total of 21 Indians have been confirmed dead in the tragedy so far.
