DGFT regional offices in three states
Raipur, Apr 1 (UNI) Regional offices of the Directorate-General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) will be set up in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Uttaranchal, the states that came into being in November 2000, Union Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh said today.
Talking to journalists here, he said, ''DGFT regional offices will soon begin functioning at Raipur, Dehradun and Ranchi.'' Pointing out that export from these states was unsatisfactory, Mr Ramesh said export from Chhattisgarh was just 0.4 per cent of Indian export and there was ample scope for export in agriculture, horticulture and handicraft.
The minister said he had asked Chief Minister Raman Singh to consider establishing a state export promotion board.
