Hyderabad, Apr 1 (UNI) Maintaining that the CPI(M)'s support was not not at all required for creation of Telangana State, BJP National Secretary B Dattatreya today demanded that the TRS must exert pressure on the Congress to introduce a bill in Parliament immediately for the purpose.

''The CPI(M)'s support is needed only for the UPA Government and not for grant of statehood to Telangana, with the BJP making it amply clear that it will support the bill, if introduced in the Parliament,'' he told newspersons.

Denying the ruling Congress charge that the BJP was trying to gain political mileage in Telangana in the coming Panchayat elections in Andhra Pradesh by raking up the emotive issue, he claimed that the TRS and the Congress were confusing the people.

''After crossing swords in the last two years with the Congress, the TRS is eagerly looking forward for revival of ties with the former in the Panchayat polls,'' he claimed.

Stating that the party's ''Chintan Baithak'' next month would chalk out a long term action plan to achieve the demand, he contended that the Congress had deliberately not made its stand clear on the issue. He wanted to know from TRS Chief and Union Labour Minister K Chandrasekara Rao whether, he had agreed for the creation of a second States' reorganisation Commission as part of poll-pact with the Congress.
