BESCOM to introduce consumer-friendly measures
Bangalore, Apr 1 (UNI) The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has planned to take up several consumer-friendly measures like reorganisation of sub divisions for a better performance in consonance with increased work load and enhance number of cash counters, ATP counters and service stations to reach consumers instantly.
Informing this to reporters here today, BESCOM Managing Director Kumar Naik said the energy loss would be brought down to less than 21 per cent from the present 22.52 per cent.
He said that in view of the heavy growth rate of consumers and consumption, the company had planned to face the challenge with the annual budget of Rs 1,085 crore.
Mr Naik informed that the company had taken up electrification of 1,737 hamlets and Harijan basthies in Bangalore Rural, Tumkur, Davanagere and Chitradurga districts at a cost of Rs 183 crore under the Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification project.
