Antique idols worth several lakh rupees seized in raids
Panaji, Apr 1 (UNI) Antiques in the form of ivory, gold, silver and marble Christian idols, worth several lakh rupees, were seized in raids at three different places in Mapusa by the crime branch sleuths today.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (crime) Ujjwal Mishra told UNI this evening that three persons were taken into custody for interrogation. One of them was nabbed today during raids on the basis of a tip-off.
The police, however, have yet to establish the origin and real owners of the antiques, which were suspected to be meant for smuggling.
