Two groups clash over food distribution at private function

Kolhapur, Mar 31 (UNI) Tension prevailed in the city's Varevasahat locality here today following a clash between two groups in which stones and bricks were freely used.

A petty dispute over food distribution at a function escalated into the clash, police said.

Suhas Patil, a resident of the locality, had organised the function at his house. A quarrel ensued between two groups over the distribution of food and it soon escalated into a clash with both sides hurling stones at each other.

Three persons were injured in the clash while seven persons have been picked up by the police.

Mr Patil has lodged a complaint with the police in this regard while a woman, Abubai Awale, has registered a cross complaint.
