Surya appointed Brand Ambassador

Coimbatore, Mar 31 (UNI) ITC limited, foods business today announced Tamil cine actor Surya as the Brand Ambassador for its flagship brand "Sunfeast" in Tamil Nadu.

Addressing a press conference here, introducing Surya, brand Manager of ITC limited-food business Devarajan Iyer said Tamil Nadu had a huge buscuit market with a sale of 10,000 tonnes per annum.

The one year old sunfeast has captured ten per cent market share.

Britania has 38 per cent and Parle with 36 per cent share in the state, he said. With the popularity of Surya as an Ambassador for Sunfeast, they hoped that they could touch 35 per cent market share within two years in the state, he added.

Stating that the turnover for Sunfeast last year was Rs 550 crore, he said the biscuit market in the state was growing by five to six per cent every year.

Answering a question, he said the company was planning to construct its own manufacturing unit at Bangalore and Uttaranchal.

Cine actor Surya said as the Brand Ambassador, he would help the company to reach the target within a year.
