Scrap material gutted in a major fire
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Mar 31 (UNI) Scrap material estimated at Rs one crore was destroyed in a major fire that broke out in a scrap godown in Ranjangaon-Shenpunji locality, about 25 kms away from here today.
The fire broke out around 1415 hrs, and continued till the evening even as five fire tenders were trying to put the blaze under control, Assistant Commissioner of Police Navin Chandra Reddy said.
Aurangabad Municipal Corporation's chief fire officer Shivaji Zanzan said that the scrap stored in the two hectare area of the private godown were gutted in the fire.
The cause of the fire was yet to be known.
