Slight intensity earthquake shakes Maharashtra
New Delhi, Mar 31: An earthquake measuring 3.5 on the richter scale shook parts of Maharashtra today, the India Metereological Department said.
The slight intensity quake was felt at 1302 hours and was epicentred near Satara in the South-West of the state.
Earthquakes of such magnitude do not usually cause damages.
More than 4000 people were killed and hundreds of others injured in a major earthquake epicentred at Latur in the state in 1993.
