Police begin probe into 'missing' idol
Pondicherry, Mar 31 (UNI) Police today began investigations into the case in which a bronze idol of Lord Murugan which went missing from the Pondicherry Museum here.
According to police, the case was registered after Mr Appalasamy, Assistant Librarian and Information Officer of the Art and Culture Department under which the museum was functioning, preferred a complaint stating the idol had been missing since November 13 last year and he suspected the hands of two curators in the incident.
The Department had replaced the old idol with a new one and denied it had gone missing.
