MV Tax up by 5%

Hyderabad, Mar 31 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Cabinet today decided to enhance the existing Motor Vehicle Tax by five per cent on private stage carriages, contract carriages, goods carriages, maxi cabs, motor cabs and vehicles taxed on ULW.

Briefing newspersons after the Cabinet meeting, Minister for Information and Public Relations Mohd Ali Shabbir said the proposal would net Rs 25 crore on existing vehicles and an additional amount of Rs 23 crore on new vehicles during 2006-07.
