LeT militant nabbed in Gulbarga
Gulbarga, Mar 31 (UNI) The city police have arrested a Laskhar-e-Toiba militant and recovered two live grenades and a pistol from him.
Talking to newspersons here today, District Superintendent of Police K Ramachandra Rao said Abdul Rehman (31) was arrested at the Gulbarga railway station last evening when he alighted from the Chennai-Mumbai Mail.
Investigation revealed that Rehman had rented a room on MSK mill road three months ago and had been visiting the city frequently since then to influence youngsters to go to Muzaffarabad in Pak occupied Kashmir for a year long training to carry out terrorist activities in India.
He had been carrying out the same exercise in Hyderabad for five to six months before coming to the city.
The police also seized a bag from him containing urdu literature, books, a mobile phone and a few audio and video cassettes.
Dr Rao said Rehman might have come to the city yesterday to obtain a fake passport for himself.
He said cases had been booked against him under the Indian Arms Act.
On information that Rehman's family members resided in Goa, a special team had been formed to carryout investigation in Goa and Mumbai. The team would leave for Goa this evening.
