Fatehpur deputy jailor's arrest stayed in murder case
Allahabad, Mar 31 (UNI) Allahabad High Court today stayed the arrest of Fatehpur district jail deputy jailor K P Singh in a criminal case of extortion and murder at a brick kiln.
A division bench comprising Justices R C Deepak and M K Mittal granted four weeks' time to additional government counsel to file counter affidavit.
The court fixed May 8 as the next date of hearing.
Two accused, Mahrajdeen and Satish were detained in the Fatehpur jail in a murder case on March 8, 2006.
They were handed over to police custody for treatment at the S R N Hospital in Allahabad.
However, the duo arranged for a private jeep and committed the murder of the owner of a brick kiln, in which one accused Mahrajdeen was also killed.
Later, an FIR was registered at Dhata police station, Fatehpur.
