Congress victory to benefit NE: Apang
Itanagar, Mar 31: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang has said the entire North Eastern region, particularly Arunachal Pradesh, would benefit if Congress recaptured power in Assam.
He was addressing a Congress rally at Bihupuria in Assam's Lakhimpur district yesterday. The Congress-led UPA government at the Centre would be strengthened further to continue its support to the region, while the boundary dispute between both the states would be resolved amicably, Mr Apang said. While appealing to voters to ''defeat the divisive forces which have raised their ugly heads,'' the Chief Minister said the Congress alone was capable of providing stability, bringing unity and maintaining the secular fabric of the nation.
