CD scam was to malign BJP, RSS: Sanjay Joshi

Nagpur, Mar 31 (UNI) Mr Sanjay Joshi, who had quit as BJP general Secretary when a sleaze CD surfaced in December arrived here to a rousing welcome last night after the Madhya Pradesh Police gave him a clean chit, saying that the CD was manipulated.

Talking to reporters late last night, Mr Joshi said it was the best birthday gift for him.

He said the circulation of the CD when BJP convention was going on in Mumbai was an attempt to malign both the BJP and the RSS and therefore, he had quit the party post to prove his innocence.

''Now that my innocence has been proved, I am a relieved man'', he said.

Mr Joshi was greeted by his party colleagues, including BJP's State unit President Nitin Gadkari.

He was also greeted by the party and Sangh leaders when he visited the RSS headquarters here this morning, where he paid tributes to Dr Hedgewar Guruji.
