2 police constables dismissed for raping minor

Bhadohi, Mar 31 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government today dismissed two police constables and a watchman on charges of raping a girl.

Police superintendent Mahavir Singh said here Sitaram Yadav of Azamgarh had lodged an FIR yesterday against six persons including constables Shamshujamma and Dhanlal Nirankari and watchman Kamla Shankar for raping a minor.

Five of the six accused including a constable were arrested yesterday. The arrested cop and the watchman were produced before a court, which sent them to 14 days' judicial custody.

The 14-year-old victim was first raped by three unidentified persons on March 28 at Jangiganj railway station.

The girl was again raped by two constables and a watchman when she approached the police to lodge a case of sexual assault.
