Villagers lay seige for water

Nashik, Mar 30 (UNI) Residents of Bore Dende village held a demonstration and laid seige to the office of panchayat samiti here yesterday, demanding drinking water.

The protestors, led by Akhil Bharatiya Adivasi Sena president D N Gade, dispersed after block development officer Babasaheb Bote and police inspector Jiwan Singh Pardesi assured of adequate supply by April 24.

Mr Gade threatened they will block Mumbai-Agra highway passing through the city if their demand was not met by the assured day.

Several villages in Igatpuri tahsil of the district are facing water shortage.
