Two women commit suicide in Kerala
Thrissur, Mar 30 (UNI) In separate incidents, two women committed suicide here during the past 24 hours.
A 32 year-old woman Bindu jumped in front of the speeding Intercity Express at Pudullad near here today, Pudukkad police said.
An employee in an ornaments shop, she took the extreme step dejected over inability to find herself a groom, police said.
In the other incident, a woman identified as Sunitha (25), was found hanging from the ceiling fan in a room in a lodge here this morning. Her four-year-old son Varun was found crying when police broke the doors of the room open.
Police said the woman had taken the room in the lodge last evening saying that she wanted to offer prayers alongwith her son at the nearby temple. Police suspect that during the night she hanged herself by using a 'shawl' after the boy slept.
Quarrel with her husband was suspected to be the reason for the extreme step.
Police removed the body for post-mortem and handed over the boy to some relatives.
