Two killed, six injured in road accident

Perambalur, Tamil Nadu, Mar 30 (UNI) Two people were killed and six injured, four of them seriously, when a lorry hit them at a bus stop in Ammapalayam village, police said.

Police said the mishap occurred last night when the driver of the lorry, who was in an inebriated condition lost control over the vehicle and rammed into a group of commuters standing at the bus stop. The lorry then hit a pedestrian and turned turtle.

The driver and cleaner has been arrested and a case was registered.

The injured were admitted to the Government Headquarters Hospital at Tiruchirapalli.
