Sonia's decision on Telangana final: former CLP leader

Hyderabad, Mar 30 (UNI) Former Congress Legislature Party leader and Minister P Janardhan Reddy today said AICC President Sonia Gandhi would take a final decision on Telangana at the earliest.

Speaking to reporters here after meeting Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President and Union Minister for Labour and Employment K Chandrasekhar Rao, he said 'we abide by the decision of Ms Gandhi and respect her decision on Telangana'.

Stating that a group of MLAs and MPS would meet Ms Ganhdi and Union Ministers to explain the problems of the people of Telangana and the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, he said the UPA government was committed to Telangana and a sub-committee had been constituted to evolve a consensus on this issue.

Mr Reddy said he had urged Mr Rao to take steps to set up a medical college for labourers in the state, in which 75 per cent seats would be reserved for their children, adding the issue of take over of ESI hospitals by the Centre was also brought to his notice.
