Hindi litterateur and journalist Manohar Shyam Joshi is dead

New Delhi, Mar 30: Noted Hindi litterateur and senior journalist Manohar Shyam Joshi died this morning.

He was 73. He is survived by wife and three sons.

The cremation will take place at Nigambodh ghat here at 1200 hrs, family sources said. He was not keeping well for some time and breathed last at 0640 hrs, they said.

Mr Joshi was recently awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award. He had been the editor of Hindi weekly 'Hindustan'. Besides, he has written several popular serials including 'Hum Log'.

Mr Joshi was born on August 9, 1933 in Almora district of Uttar Pradesh (now in Uttaranchal).
