RBI makes arrangements for tax payments tomorrow

New Delhi, Mar 30 (UNI) The Reserve Bank of India will make arrangements for additional counters as well as extend the working hours tomorrow to facilitate acceptance of taxes from assessees.

With a view to obviating the inconvenience in depositing the taxes, the branches of the State Bank of India, its associate banks, all public sector banks, HDFC Bank Ltd, ICICI Bank, UTI Bank, IDBI Bank and a few branches of the J&K Bank are authorised to collect taxes.

''Taxes may be deposited either in cash or by cheque'', the RBI said in a release here today.
