Prince Charles arrives in Jaipur

Jaipur, Mar 30 (UNI) Prince Charles and his wife and Duchess of Cornwall Camilla arrived here today by a special flight.

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia and tourism minister Usha Punia received him at the airport at around 1600 hrs.

From the airport, Prince Charles headed directly to Janpath to witness the Rajasthan Day Parade where he is the chief guest. He was accorded a warm welcome with helicopters showering flowers on him.

'Tilak' was put on the royal couple's foreheads.

He is expected to visit the City Palace after watching a programme on Rajasthani folk dances. Governor Pratibha Patil is also giving them company.

He will spend the rest of the day with the royal family.

He is also expected to meet Maharani Gayatri Devi at her residence Lilypool.
