Over 250 terror attacks preempted in SCO countries: official
Moscow, Mar 30 (UNI) The Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, Hizb-ut -Tahrir and al Qaeda, are listed as terror organisations in five of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation member countries, SCO sources said today.
''More than 250 terror attacks were preempted last year, in the countries of the regional group,'' said Mr Vyacheslav Kasymov, head of the executive committee of the Regional Anti-Terror Agency of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation(SCO).
The SCO includes Russia, China and four Central Asian countries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The Russian Federal Security Service's Deputy Director Sergei Smirnov, who led the Russian delegation at the meeting said that about 400 suspected terrorists were on the Agency's wanted list.
