One killed by naxals, villagers return to relief camps

Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, Mar 30 (UNI) A villager was killed by naxalite at Basaguda area in Dantewada district even as 300 villagers, who were put up at Cherpal relief camp, returned to their villages, police said today.

Hirapur village-resident Kurso was stabbed to death by the ultras last night for participating in anti-naxalite 'Salwa Judum' campaign.

Meanwhile, another villager was injured during an encounter between naxalite and police at Pratapara village in Dantewada district early today. He was admitted to hospital.

Police said 300 villagers from five villages, who were participating in the Salwa Judum campaign, returned. Recently, naxalites had warned villagers to return to their villages and had assured they would face no trouble there.
