Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 30 (UNI) Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president Ramesh Chennithala today denied there was any confusion in the tie-up between his party and the Democratic Indira Congress(K) of veteran leader K Karunakaran for the April-May Assembly polls.

'Workers of both parties will fight the Assembly polls unitedly and all other matters will be discussed after the elections,' he told newspersons here.

There might be differenc of opinion on many matters and they would be sorted out through discussions, he added.

However, he evaded a direct reply to a query on Mr Karunakaran's claim that the merger of his party with the Congress was not a pre-condition for the tie-up, saying the Congress wanted to unite all Congressmen under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi.

He said the Congress had finalised 77 candidates for the polls, of which 21 were new faces.
